Da Nang urges progress of many social housing projects

On the morning of April 11, at a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in the first quarter, Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Ha Nam said that in order to proactively and predict the situation of the demand for housing and rental of workers will increase after the merger of the two localities of Da Nang and Quang Nam, the Department of Construction held a meeting to review the implementation of social housing projects in Da Nang City.

Through review, for social housing projects invested from public investment capital and trade union financial resources, including the projects: Social housing apartments for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen street (209 apartments) have been completed, the Department of Construction is seeking opinions on rental price plans and operation management to implement rental procedures as soon as possible.

Project to upgrade workers' housing in Hoa Cam Industrial Park, phase 1 (184 apartments), units urgently deploy investment preparation procedures to start the project in October 2025.

For the project of the concentrated dormitory area in the west and the expanded west in the Hoa Khanh industrial urban area (728 apartments), the Department of Construction has requested relevant units to urgently review and repair the fire protection system and fire pumps to complete before April 12 for handover and rental arrangement.

For some other projects such as social housing apartments for people with revolutionary contributions phase 2 (about 191 apartments); social housing and trade union institutions in Lien Chieu district (about 730 apartments); social housing at Hoa Cam Industrial Park phase 2 (about 500 apartments), the Department of Construction has requested relevant units to coordinate and speed up the project implementation progress.

For social housing projects invested from non-budgetary sources, including the projects: Social housing apartments at lots B4-1, B4-2 in Bau Tram Lakeside green urban area (2,736 apartments, completed and put into use), the Department of Construction requires wards and communes to strengthen their responsibility in receiving and guiding applications for renting and buying social housing, especially confirming income conditions to be eligible to buy or rent-purchase social housing for low-income people in urban areas.

In addition, the City requested to speed up the construction progress of the apartment project for low-income people in Dai Dia Bao Resettlement Area - Block C and the apartment project for low-income people in An Trung 2 - Block A, B (870 apartments); urgently complete procedures to start the social housing project at land plots B4-1, B4-2 in Hoa Hiep 4 Resettlement Area (1,564 apartments)...

Establishment of Steering Committee on province merger between Da Nang City and Quang Nam

Regarding the merger of provinces between Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, Mr. Le Phu Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City, said that currently, according to the direction and guidance of the Central Government, Quang Nam and Da Nang have established a Steering Committee to prepare for the merger of provinces between the two localities.

"This morning, April 11, the Departments of Home Affairs of the two localities are holding an online meeting to assign tasks and provide guidance to the departments. The implementation of the provincial merger policy is being carried out in the spirit of the two localities being extremely proactive, preparing to develop a project to submit to the Central Government before May 1, 2025," informed Le Phu Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang.
