Meaningful lessons

In the jubilant atmosphere of the whole country towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22); carrying out the tasks of the 2024 - 2025 school year, Yen So Kindergarten (Hoang Mai, Hanoi) organized many experiential activities to help children gain more understanding of the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, fostering pride in the achievements and good qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers. At the same time, educating children in gratitude for those who have fought and are fighting to protect the country, peace for the Fatherland.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh, Principal of Yen So Kindergarten, said: With the enthusiastic coordination and support from two sister units, Yen So Shooting Range and New Soldier Training Company; Yen So Ward's permanent militia squad and the support of parents, the school has implemented activities such as making a welcome wall newspaper, drawing pictures to give to soldiers, making soldiers marching in the field with the uniforms of Navy, Infantry, and Military Medicine soldiers...

With a serious demeanor and friendly smiles, the soldiers guided the students to perform basic command movements such as standing at attention - resting, turning left - right, climbing ladders, setting up tents, crawling through tunnels, overcoming obstacles, rolling on the ground, jumping high, throwing far, walking on a rope, bending, etc. and especially guided them to participate in military missions, transporting food, pulling artillery, loading ammunition, transporting goods by bicycle, and being a military doctor.

The most fun was when the students were accompanied by the guitars and sang and danced with the teacher to the soldiers, grilled sweet potatoes and corn with the soldiers, and experienced a meal of rice balls with sesame salt on the march... The tug of war was the place that attracted the most fans, the "little soldiers" and the teacher won the battle against the soldiers amid the laughter of the teacher and the children. These activities not only helped the students understand more about the work of soldiers but also trained them in motor skills, patience and team spirit.

This school year, teachers and students of the school also visited a unit of the Air Defense - Air Force. They joined the soldiers in the "Flag Salute" ceremony and the solemn parade ceremony. In addition, they also visited the vegetable garden where the soldiers grew crops and observed where they practiced and lived their daily lives.

Ms. Kim Huong, representative of the school's Parents' Association, joined the children and shared: The school has organized a series of meaningful activities on December 22. The children have experienced and learned many good lessons from the soldiers. I hope that the school will organize more useful activities like this to educate the children about gratitude and national pride, as well as practice many skills and create more excitement for the children.

Fostering knowledge and personality for students

Last week, Dong Truc Primary School (Thach That, Hanoi) also organized activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. The school organized activities such as: Offering incense at the martyrs' temple; Traditional talk "Uncle tells us" by Mr. Kieu Van Tien - Chairman of the Veterans Association of Dong Truc commune - talking about the history and significance of the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22; Propaganda and book introduction...

According to the school, the activities have left many valuable lessons in the students’ hearts. They are not only proud of the glorious tradition but also have a sense of responsibility to preserve and promote those noble values.

Previously, implementing the Extracurricular Activities Plan and the Team Work Program for the 2024-2025 school year, Dong Truc Primary School organized for all students to visit the K9 historical site and experience the Educational Farm in Doi Dai (Xuan Son, Son Tay, Hanoi). This is an annual activity of the school, the field trip has contributed significantly to the educational activities and personality development of students. Each trip leaves deep and unforgettable impressions on each student.

At the Hanoi Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, last week, in the solemn atmosphere of the flag-raising ceremony, the students of the school joined together to learn about the heroic and indomitable tradition of the Vietnam People's Army. The students were able to answer useful questions, thereby better understanding the history and contributions of generations of soldiers who sacrificed and selflessly fought for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Today is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs, but also an opportunity for the children to understand more deeply the tradition of patriotism and the resilient spirit of the nation. Each answer, each understanding of the Vietnam People's Army is a source of pride and motivation for the children to strive to become useful citizens for the country.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh added: Experiential activities are a useful playground for students to exchange, learn, and strengthen the relationship between school and family. This is also one of the educational goals that schools need to achieve. Certainly, the school will continue to have more meaningful activities to help students have more experiences, more confidence, love, and solidarity. Practical and meaningful activities that bring smiles to the children also create more motivation for the staff, teachers, and employees of the school to be more excited, love their jobs, unite, and work together to nurture green shoots for the future of the homeland.
