Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper quoted a source from the Danang Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II (Danang MRCC) saying that rescue ship SAR 412 had just rescued a Quang Ngai fisherman who had a stroke at sea.
Previously, at 7:00 p.m. on October 29, the ship QNg 98308 TS, captained by fisherman Huynh Van Dinh (53 years old, residing in Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai), was operating in the Hoang Sa sea area at position 15º52' N - 113º12' E (about 40 nautical miles east of Bombay island, Hoang Sa archipelago).
At this time, on the boat, fisherman Nguyen Van Chi (73 years old, living in Duc Pho town) suddenly experienced symptoms of dizziness, inability to move and unconsciousness.
Realizing the dangerous situation of fisherman Chi, captain Dinh contacted the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) to request emergency medical assistance.
Receiving the information at 6:30 a.m. on October 30, Vietnam MRCC requested the Quang Ngai fishing boat to immediately stop fishing and change course to the mainland. At the same time, it coordinated with the Da Nang City Emergency Center to provide medical advice to the boat.
Doctors diagnosed fisherman Chi with a stroke, with a serious prognosis. This fisherman must be given emergency treatment, otherwise a brain hemorrhage could lead to death.
According to Giao thong newspaper, at 2:30 p.m. on October 30, Vietnam MRCC dispatched SAR 412 ship to urgently carry out the rescue mission of the crew of ship QNg 98308 TS.
Da Nang City Emergency Center sent a medical team and equipment to follow SAR 412 ship for emergency treatment.
At 1:15 a.m. on October 31, the maritime rescue force approached the QNg 98308 TS ship. A team of doctors and rescue workers were immediately deployed to the ship to perform first aid on the spot.
The patient was now unconscious and paralyzed on one side. Specialist doctors performed emergency treatment to stabilize the patient's condition and transferred him to the SAR 412 ship for specialized medical care and urgent return to the mainland for treatment.
Under the efforts and dedicated treatment of the medical team and rescue workers, the patient initially overcame the critical condition and saved his life.
At 12:09 on October 31, fisherman Nguyen Van Chi was brought safely to Da Nang and taken to the hospital for treatment.
