The Association of War Veterans of Him Lam Ward (Dien Bien Phu City) mobilizes members to promote family economic development.

The Dien Bien Phu City Veterans Association has 3,147 members, operating at 14 association bases. Identifying that learning and following Uncle Ho is an important task, from the beginning of the year, the City Veterans Association has developed a program and plan to deploy to grassroots organizations of the Association and concretize the ethical standards of veterans according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. The Association organizes registration to follow, commends and rewards collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo. Making learning and following Uncle Ho one of the criteria for evaluating and classifying emulation of the Association at all levels. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ninh, Vice Chairman of the City Veterans Association. Dien Bien Phu said: Along with promoting propaganda, the City Veterans Association directs all levels of the association to include in the annual work plan the content and implementation targets with specific actions associated with the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans", "Veterans help each other develop the economy", organize activities of solidarity, care and help members resolve policies... In which, encourage members to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, overcoming difficulties to escape poverty, and legitimately enrich themselves; create conditions for members to access and effectively use loan sources (the association manages a debt balance of more than 7 billion VND for 100 members to borrow from the Social Policy Bank). Currently, the entire association has 15 members who are business owners, 1 company, 271 good economic models with an income of over 100 million VND/year. Enterprises create stable jobs for more than 1,000 workers with an income of 3 - 5 million VND/month. The entire association no longer has members from poor or near-poor households. In addition, members actively educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, coordinate to participate in maintaining security and order, ensuring traffic safety...

The Association of War Veterans in Him Lam Ward is a typical example of learning and following Uncle Ho. The Association of War Veterans at all levels in the ward has learned and followed Uncle Ho through specific and practical actions such as: Actively participating in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction; mobilizing members to participate in the model of "self-managed environmental protection team", "self-managed route" in Group 9, Group 14, Group 23. The Association coordinated with organizations to mobilize members' families and people to actively participate in the movement "All people protect national security", mobilized 100% of members' families and people to sign a commitment to practice a civilized lifestyle, build a cultural family. The Association participated in resolving many cases, such as site clearance (60m road project), resolving regimes, policies, conflicts among people... which were recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people. The association has 57 members developing the economy with models of livestock farming, family farms, business, and comprehensive services, generating an income of over 150 million VND/year and creating stable jobs for hundreds of workers with an income of 4 - 5 million VND/month.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thao, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Him Lam Ward, said: The Association has 414 members, operating in 21 branches. Each War Veterans Association member of the ward upholds the spirit of being a role model, taking the lead in performing their duties. Always complying with the regulations of the Party and the State, mobilizing families and children to practice a civilized lifestyle in residential areas, educating children not to get involved in social evils...

With many specific actions in studying and following Uncle Ho, every year 100% of the Association's bases and 98% of the branches achieve clean and strong status; 98% of members achieve the title of "Exemplary War Veteran", 97% of members' families achieve the title of cultural family. In 2022, the Dien Bien Phu City War Veterans Association received many certificates of merit from all levels, sectors and the Central War Veterans Association awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the "Exemplary War Veterans" movement. Many collectives and individuals of the City War Veterans Association were commended and rewarded for their many achievements and contributions to the emulation movements of the province.
