(NLDO)- Ho Chi Minh City leaders said that for nearly 50 years, the park in front of the Reunification Hall, called April 30 Park, has entered the memories of the city's residents.


On the morning of January 19, at the Park in front of Thong Nhat Hall (District 1 - Ho Chi Minh City), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the naming of April 30 Park.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that for nearly 50 years, the name April 30 Park has been in the memories of the city's residents, familiar and obvious until the time of reviewing the names of streets, parks, and squares.

Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City recognizes its responsibility to officially submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to issue a Resolution and announce the naming of April 30 Park.

"April 30 Park is not only a place name, but also a symbol of peace, solidarity and aspiration of the people of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the whole country. The name "April 30" reminds us of the day the country was unified, the country was united and is a source of pride not only for today's generation but also for many generations of ancestors who have devoted and sacrificed for independence and freedom" - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung shared.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, naming April 30 Park right at this historical location has profound meaning. This is not only a place for people to relax and enjoy the fresh air, but also a space for young generations to look back on the past, cherish the value of peace and work towards a sustainable future.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee called on people to continue to promote awareness of maintaining public hygiene, protecting trees and participating in activities to build the park into a civilized and friendly destination.

April 30 Park is not only a part of District 1 but also a valuable asset of the entire city. The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee believes that this place will increasingly develop, becoming the pride of Ho Chi Minh City, a meaningful destination for people and domestic and foreign tourists.

The city officially has streets named after Do Muoi, Le Kha Phieu, Le Duc Anh, Phan Van Khai

On the same morning, in District 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also held a ceremony to announce the naming of roads for National Highway 1, National Highway 1K, National Highway 22, and National Highway 50.

Accordingly, the above national highways are officially named after Party and State leaders. The named routes are located on national highways passing through Ho Chi Minh City.

Street naming ceremony on the morning of January 19

Specifically, naming General Secretary Do Muoi on National Highway 1 - from Thu Duc intersection (old Tram 2 intersection) to An Suong intersection;

Naming National Highway 1 after President Le Duc Anh - from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout;

Naming General Secretary Le Kha Phieu on National Highway 1 - the section from An Lac roundabout to Long An province border;

Naming National Assembly Chairman Le Quang Dao on National Highway 22 - the section from National Highway 1 to An Ha Bridge;

Naming Prime Minister Phan Van Khai on National Highway 22 - the section from An Ha bridge to the border of Tay Ninh province;

Naming National Highway 50 after General Van Tien Dung - the section from Nguyen Van Linh Street to the border of Long An province;

Naming National Highway 1K after Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Cam - the section from National Highway 1 to the border of Binh Duong province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that naming national highways in the city after Party and State leaders and leaders who commanded the Ho Chi Minh Campaign is to honor the great contributions of the leaders, contribute to educating the historical and cultural traditions of the nation, and cultivate love for the homeland and country, and national pride of the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, naming the leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign on this occasion also aims to celebrate the anniversaries of major holidays and important historical events in 2025 of the country and the city.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the naming of streets will directly and indirectly affect the lives of local residents. Therefore, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City hope that people and businesses will sympathize and share with the State agencies in adjusting and updating relevant documents as soon as possible.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed that State agencies will support people during the implementation process to limit disruption and impact on people's lives in the area.
