Song Tranh Hydropower Company's electricity production reached 200% of the plan in the first quarter of 2025

The hydrological situation in the first 3 months of this year was favorable, the flow to Song Tranh 2 hydropower reservoir averaged ^109.7m3 /s, equal to 185% compared to the same period last year. Song Tranh Hydropower Company has made efforts to operate generators safely, always meeting the mobilization requirements of the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited.

Mr. Le Dinh Phuc - Acting Director of Song Tranh Hydropower Company said that as of March 31, the company had produced 215.2 million kWh of electricity, reaching 200% of the first quarter plan of 2025 and 39.7% of the 2025 plan assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, contributing to ensuring water supply requirements for the downstream area for winter-spring crop production this year.

Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, Song Tranh Hydropower Company proactively coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to unify the water supply plan for production and daily life during the dry season of 2025. In particular, coordinating to survey the status of the most difficult water pumping stations downstream, proposing to renovate and upgrade water intake works and equipment; dredging and clearing the flow to get water more effectively.

At the same time, to ensure safe, continuous and highly efficient operation of generators, from the beginning of the year, the company has developed a plan to implement electricity supply solutions for 2025 and the following years.

In particular, focusing on key solutions such as: improving operational discipline, incident handling drills; training human resources and skills for officers and employees; increasing the frequency of monitoring equipment operations, especially equipment with long life and at risk of incidents; improving the quality of maintenance and repair work through controlling approved technical plans, processes, regulations and strictly implementing labor discipline during equipment maintenance and repair.

‏“Currently, the water level of Song Tranh 2 hydropower reservoir is at 173.52m, 2.22m higher than the water level specified in the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedures for the same period. This amount of water will greatly contribute to ensuring the security of power supply for the downstream power system and water supply to serve the fight against drought and saltwater intrusion during the peak dry season of 2025,” Mr. Le Dinh Phuc informed.
