Stick to the grassroots to establish trade union organizations
In Tien Phuoc district, there are not many enterprises, so developing new union members or establishing grassroots unions in enterprises is not an advantage in building grassroots union organizations.
However, when a business comes to invest, the Tien Phuoc District Labor Federation closely follows and works to establish a labor union.
In 2024, Tien Phuoc District Labor Federation was not assigned the target of establishing a new grassroots trade union, however, the district Labor Federation mobilized and established a grassroots trade union in a non-state enterprise at FURUI Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. (Tai Da Industrial Cluster, Tien Phong Commune).
In the first 6 months of 2024, the province newly established 15 grassroots trade unions and 1 trade union (including 14 grassroots trade unions established at enterprises with 25 or more workers); 7,222 new union members were admitted. Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor is managing 1,838 grassroots trade unions with 140,485 union members/147,985 workers, civil servants, and laborers.
This company was established in July 2023, operating in the field of shoe sole production. All 59 employees working at this company are admitted to the Trade Union organization.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Van - Interim President of the Trade Union of FURUI Technology Vietnam Company said that the Board of Directors' attention to coordinating with the local authorities to establish a Trade Union organization is a favorable condition for activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of employees. Therefore, all employees of the company voluntarily join the trade union organization.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chi - Chairman of Tien Phuoc District Labor Federation said: “Tien Phuoc does not have an advantage in industry, so establishing a new grassroots trade union is a difficult task. In enterprises, when there is a trade union organization, implementing operating regulations, propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; launching emulation movements; and taking good care of the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers will be more convenient during the implementation process. Having a grassroots trade union will help organize many activities to contribute to promoting production and business activities with enterprises”.
Improve quality
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Provincial Economic Zones & Industrial Parks (EZ&IP) Trade Union established a new grassroots trade union and admitted 109 new union members at Karcher Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. (Tam Hiep Industrial Park).
At the grassroots trade unions, 3,747 more members were added, but 3,655 members were also reduced. Currently, the provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Zone Trade Union is managing 95 grassroots trade unions with 45,472 members/49,453 workers.
The provincial Economic Zones and Industrial Zones Trade Union also dissolved and handed over 80 union members of the Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited - Quang Nam to Heineken Vietnam Brewery Corporation.
Dissolve 4 affiliated trade unions due to the enterprises ceasing production and business activities (Trade Union of Chu Lai Surimi Seafood Company Limited, Trade Union of Minh Phuong Garment Company Limited, Trade Union of Tin Hung Joint Stock Company, Trade Union of Quang Nam Agricultural and Forestry Seed Center).
Mr. Nguyen Ky Vinh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of the province said: "The quality of the workforce in the Economic Zones and Industrial Parks is constantly increasing in all aspects.
Business owners are more interested in training to improve the education, skills and expertise of workers. Businesses have paid more attention to coordinating with life, ideology, employment, stable income, working conditions, and gradually improved working environment, creating a premise for quick access to advanced techniques, modern technology, and quick adaptation to market mechanisms.
Identifying the development of union members and the establishment of new grassroots unions in enterprises as important tasks, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has focused on promoting propaganda activities, mobilizing workers to join trade unions, establishing a Steering Committee for developing union members and establishing grassroots unions for the period 2023 - 2028.
The Provincial Federation of Labor has also implemented Directive No. 48 dated June 27, 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening the building of party organizations and socio-political organizations in non-state enterprises; focusing on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, increasing the ratio of union members to the total number of workers in places where unions have been established, especially enterprises in industrial parks, economic zones, and industrial clusters.
