The People's Committee of Long An province has just issued a Decision to announce an emergency situation of landslides on the banks of the Han Canal River, Vinh Thanh Hamlet, Phuoc Vinh Dong Commune, Can Giuoc District.

This area is often strongly affected by the flow, high tides, combined with a large number of heavy-duty waterway vehicles passing through day and night, causing landslides for many years. Especially in the last 2 years, the landslide situation has become more and more complicated and serious, the riverbank is now 1-2m deep inside, the total length of serious landslides is about 125m,

The landslide locations are at risk of causing landslides, house collapses and property damage, and risking the lives of some residents living in the area. These locations have been proactively reinforced and treated against landslides many times by local authorities and residents to protect them, but landslides continue to occur. The landslide area on the Han Canal riverbank directly affects about 20 households with 80 people living, working and doing business.

Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Long An province requested the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district to coordinate with relevant units to organize the emergency evacuation of people and property from dangerous landslide areas and areas at risk of dangerous landslides; at the same time, notify, put up warning signs, cordon off areas to prevent people and vehicles from entering landslide areas, and arrange staff to closely monitor the landslide developments.

Units and localities need to take initial steps to limit landslides; organize the development of urgent treatment plans, approve plans and mobilize forces and materials for urgent treatment according to the provisions of law to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the State; mobilize all resources to urgently handle incidents of natural disaster prevention and control works and incidents of construction works caused by natural disasters.
