The ceremony announced the decision of the Minister of Public Security on dissolving the district police and Thu Duc City Police; the decision of the Minister of Public Security on the organization of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department.

At the same time, the decision of the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department on 6 officers at the level of department heads, district heads, and counties who requested early retirement according to their wishes; the decision on personnel work for the positions of department heads, deputy department heads, etc. was announced.

Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department emphasized that it is necessary to clearly understand that "not organizing district-level police" does not reduce functions, tasks, and staffing, but essentially reduces intermediate levels; the tasks of the district-level police force will be transferred to department-level units and commune-level police to continue to perform.

Mr. Nam said that up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Police have basically completed the statistics of the current status of work, facilities, equipment, weapons, etc. and can immediately hand over and receive, ensuring the normal and smooth operation of the entire Ho Chi Minh City Police force when implementing the new organizational model and apparatus.

Starting today, along with local police across the country, Ho Chi Minh City Police officially has a new organizational model and apparatus; there is no district-level police organization.

Ho Chi Minh City Police has reduced the number of focal points from 55 to 33, including a reduction of 246 team-level units; at the same time, a number of tasks received from departments and branches have officially come into operation.

In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City Police will continue to review, arrange and assign staff to ensure improved effectiveness and efficiency in performing tasks.
