Mr. Mai Duc Chung started his playing career in 1975 in the Hanoi Xe Ca Club. This was also the starting point for the nickname Chung "xe ca" that fans gave him. However, it was not until he moved to the General Department of Railways Club that Mr. Chung reached the peak of his career.

In the uniform of the General Department of Railways, Mr. Chung built a memorable career. He was one of two players who scored in the match to unify the North and South when the General Department of Railways faced Saigon Port. The other author of the goal was Mr. Le Thuy Hai, a long-time friend of Mr. Mai Duc Chung.

Nearly half a century together, the newlyweds still love and are attached to each other. Coach Mai Duc Chung calls and texts his wife wherever he goes, whatever he does, and Mrs. Uyen always prepares everything for her husband, taking care of every meal and sleep.
