Hai Phong: 22-year-old girl puts university degree aside to join the army
On the morning of February 13, Hai Phong City held a military enlistment ceremony in districts across the area.
In 2025, Hai Phong recruited a total of 2,851 citizens to join the army, including 2,550 new recruits joining the military service and 301 new recruits joining the people's police service.
Thuy Nguyen City is a district-level locality that recruited 568 citizens to join the army, the highest in Hai Phong City.

Among the new recruits joining the army in early spring in Hai Phong, there is Ngo Thuy Linh (born 2002), the only female recruit in Hong Bang district who volunteered to join the army, pursuing her dream of becoming a soldier.
Linh shared that since she was little, she heard her grandfather tell stories about his time as a soldier, about him crossing mountains and forests, and joining his comrades in the resistance war against the French colonialists. The image of a soldier in the People's Army is always imprinted in her mind.
After graduating from university, Linh expressed her wish to join the army to her family. Although her family and friends were surprised by the news, they were very supportive, especially her uncle who is also working in the armed forces. The joy doubled when a few days ago the young girl was able to join the Party.

“To prepare for my military service, I get into the habit of waking up early every day, exercising, maintaining my health, and eagerly wearing the green uniform. A university degree is a solid foundation for my military service as well as finding a suitable job after completing my service,” Linh shared.
2,500 Hai Duong youths join the army
Also on the morning of February 13, districts/towns/cities in Hai Duong province simultaneously held handover ceremonies for a total of 2,500 citizens participating in military service and public security service.
At the Eastern Cultural Center (Hai Duong City), Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee attended and encouraged young people to join the army.
In 2025, Hai Duong City will have 220 young people joining the army and participating in police service, an increase of 2 targets compared to 2024. Of these, 60 young people will write volunteer applications, 45 outstanding young people will attend Party awareness training classes and 4 will become party members. 30 young people will have university and college degrees.

Speaking at the military handover ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Kien - Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee emphasized that in order to ensure the quantity and quality of new recruits, the city's Military Service Council has coordinated with military agencies, police and local departments to effectively implement the military recruitment process, ensuring strictness, fairness, openness and transparency from the grassroots level.
The Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee requested the new recruits to continue promoting the traditions of previous generations, the revolutionary traditions of the heroic homeland, making efforts to study, train, and strive to complete all assigned tasks well.
Ha Nam: 1,573 new recruits leave for military service
On the morning of February 13, districts, cities and towns in Ha Nam province simultaneously held military enlistment ceremonies for 2025.
According to the Military Command of Ha Nam province, in 2025, the province was assigned the target of selecting and calling up 1,573 young people for military service. Of these, 1,300 new recruits will join the army and 273 citizens will join the police.
Among the new recruits, 351 outstanding young men have attended Party awareness training classes; nearly 18% of the young men have graduated from university or college.

The Military Command of Ha Nam province said that in 2025, the military recruitment work will have a new point, which is that the health examination for military recruitment for young men will be carried out according to Circular No. 105/2023/TT-BQP dated December 6, 2023 of the Ministry of National Defense.
Through the steps in the recruitment process, 1,573 young men were recruited for military service. All 100% of the young men who enlisted met the criteria for health, moral qualities, and educational level.
At the military handover ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and leaders of districts, towns and cities in Ha Nam province encouraged and presented gifts to the new recruits in 2025.
