Yuan Forecast

The focus of the trading day will be on China's key economic data for the first quarter of 2024, which will be closely watched for indicators including industrial production, retail sales, fixed asset investment and home prices to gauge the health of the world's second-largest economy.

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) has also attracted attention after it pegged the yuan at its weakest level since March 25 to support the economy. However, the move could raise concerns about government intervention in the foreign exchange market and put further pressure on investor sentiment.

In addition, the Japanese Yen's decline to a 34-year low is also putting pressure on the Chinese Yuan. The weaker Yen gives Japan a competitive advantage in exports over China. Investors interested in the Chinese Yuan are also closely watching the Japanese Government's moves.
