Expert Nguyen Minh Phong talks about anti-waste at the Ministry of Industry and Trade

According to expert Nguyen Minh Phong, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has seriously implemented thrift practice and anti-waste and has achieved initial results.

In the recent article "Fighting against waste", General Secretary To Lam said that in every revolutionary stage, our Party and State have always paid special attention to the work of preventing and combating waste, issued many resolutions, directives and conclusions on this issue and led the entire political system and the entire people to organize and implement it, achieving many results.

Faced with the need to increase resources and mobilize people's strength to bring the country into a new era under the leadership of the Party, the work of preventing and combating waste is facing new, urgent requirements and tasks.

With an important role in State management of industry and trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has thoroughly implemented activities to promote and practice thrift and anti-waste, which have been recognized by experts and the business community.

Sharing on the sidelines of the Forum, economic expert Nguyen Minh Phong said: “ The Forum 'Ministry of Industry and Trade: Fighting waste, unleashing development resources' was very successful. Firstly, the Forum chose the right topic, very accurate, these are hot issues that are at the heart of the direction of the entire political system; secondly, the Forum gathered the necessary faces, representatives and voices related to the topic of fighting waste ”.

Commenting on the achievements of the Industry and Trade sector, expert Nguyen Minh Phong said that the Forum is an opportunity for the Industry and Trade sector to recount what has been done, or also an opportunity to present ideas for the future. And especially a place to explain the problems that society and businesses pose to themselves as state agencies. At the same time, it is an opportunity to look at the assessments and perspectives that experts have pointed out in the process of managing against waste of resources.

“ We appreciate the anti-waste efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from the Ministry's leaders to its functional officials in recent times ,” expert Nguyen Minh Phong emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phong said that at the Forum, there were many discussions and opinions on energy issues, which were highly appreciated. In particular, the opinion of Mr. Huynh Quang Hai, Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PVGAS), when proposing the planning of central liquefied gas depots. This is an opinion that the Ministry of Industry and Trade should pay attention to, because currently one of the problems of the liquefied gas plant chain is the planning of logistics warehouses. There is no planning, while each factory is expected to have one warehouse. PVGAS proposed a new scenario of up to 4 warehouses, so social efficiency will be higher, reducing costs better.

“ We think this is an idea that should be studied because it is one of the methods of organizing specialized tasks and avoiding self-containment, as well as causing costly expenses for related units. In addition, with the Power Plan VIII or the Electricity Law, if the Ministry of Industry and Trade thoroughly implements it, it will help improve the energy issue, especially in the issue of developing renewable energy, as well as energy-saving activities ,” expert Nguyen Minh Phong emphasized.

Through the organization of the Forum "Ministry of Industry and Trade: Combating waste, unleashing development resources", the Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes to contribute to thoroughly grasping and spreading the strong and innovative instructions and messages of General Secretary To Lam on combating waste; at the same time, helping the Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular and ministries, branches and localities in general to continue to perfect mechanisms and policies, improve efficiency in waste prevention and combat, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals in the coming time.
