"Pride of the National Flag" program comes to Lac Duong district

(NLDO) - On the morning of February 21, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 1,000 flags from the "Pride of the National Flag" Program and 40 million VND in scholarships to Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province.


On the morning of January 21, in Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province, Dr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, and the Newspaper's working delegation presented 1,000 flags from the "Pride of the National Flag" Program to Lac Duong district to implement the "National Flag Road".

The program "Proud of the National Flag" consists of 3 components: "Millions of National Flags with Fishermen at Sea", "Flags of the Borderlands" and "Flags of the National Flag Road", with the message of arousing pride and joining hands to protect the country's sovereignty. The program has received deep attention and enthusiastic participation from many departments and senior leaders of the country.

Up to now, after more than 5 years of implementing the program, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has organized more than 320 events nationwide, thereby presenting and signing contracts to present more than 2.1 million national flags to people in provinces and cities nationwide.

At the ceremony, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper also awarded 20 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, to 20 poor students who have overcome difficulties in Lac Duong district. The funding for the care comes from the "Scholarship to support ethnic minority and poor students" program.

From 2022 to present, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has also awarded thousands of scholarships with a total value of more than 14 billion VND and 900 bicycles to students who are children of ethnic minorities in border areas, children of soldiers and fishermen who have made efforts to overcome difficulties to study in many provinces and cities across the country, contributing to motivating them to strive in life.

The program "Scholarship to support ethnic minority and poor students" has awarded nearly 14.7 billion VND at 60 locations in more than 30 provinces and cities nationwide.

Mr. Le Cao Cuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, said that these are meaningful activities, concretizing the memorandum of understanding that Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee signed on cooperation in propaganda on February 20. Among them are social activities behind the newspaper, bringing support programs to localities in Lam Dong province.

"The national flags from the meaningful program increase the pride of soldiers and people in the country's traditions, making a practical contribution to protecting the country's sovereignty from the sea to the mainland. The scholarships show the concern of philanthropists and readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper sent to students, especially ethnic minority students, to give them new motivation to rise up in life, achieve good results in studying and training, and contribute to building their homeland" - Mr. Cuong said.

This is a great source of motivation, both material and spiritual support for students to overcome difficulties, strive to study well, and become useful people for society, hometown and family" - Ms. Quynh expressed.
