The Provincial Ethnic Committee supports the family of Mr. Dinh Van Su - a prestigious person in Dam Sen area, Yen Luong commune, Thanh Son district, who suffered economic losses due to the impact of storm No. 3.
Over the years, the prestigious people in ethnic minority areas have always promoted their responsible, pioneering and exemplary roles in implementing movements and campaigns, actively propagating and mobilizing people to change their thinking and working methods, and develop the socio-economy. From there, they have contributed to changing the face of ethnic minority areas to become more and more prosperous, people's lives have improved day by day, and the poverty rate has decreased year by year.
In order for prestigious people to promote their position and role in propaganda and mobilizing the people, all levels and sectors in the province have paid attention to and well implemented the regimes and policies of the Party and State for ethnic minorities, including policies for prestigious people according to Decision No. 12/2018/QD-TTg dated March 6, 2018 of the Prime Minister.
Focusing on providing information to prestigious people, in the period of 2021 - 2023, the Provincial Ethnic Committee has distributed over 300,000 copies of Phu Tho newspaper, Ethnic and Development newspaper; organized delegations of prestigious people to visit and learn from experiences; organized training courses, fostered knowledge of law, national defense, security, ethnic policies and skills of mediation, propaganda, and mass mobilization for prestigious people.
Along with that, localities regularly provide and disseminate new documents, information on the situation, tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and the results of implementing programs, projects and ethnic policies being implemented in the locality; organize conferences to honor prestigious people among ethnic minorities to encourage and recognize their contributions in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies.
In particular, in order to continue paying attention to the prestigious people among ethnic minorities, from 2021, the policy for prestigious people among ethnic minorities as prescribed in Decision No. 12/2018/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister will be integrated into Sub-Project 1, Project 10 under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period. Prestigious people will be provided with timely information, trained in legal knowledge, and improved in mediation, propaganda, and mass mobilization skills. Currently, the prestigious people are mostly elderly people.
In the process of performing tasks, there will be difficulties such as health, not being proficient in using technological means, limited travel to mobilize, propagate as well as grasp information about the Party's policies, policies and laws of the State...

The election of prestigious people among ethnic minorities must ensure the prescribed criteria; ensure that prestigious people have enough prestige, exemplary, capacity and health in performing their duties; strengthen information updates, training, fostering, and equipping knowledge for prestigious people to promptly adapt and effectively promote their role with the community. In particular, continue to implement the plan to commend and honor advanced models; promote the role of core forces and prestigious people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to implement the Target Program National socio-economic development plan for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021 - 2030 in Phu Tho province".
