Yen Bai - On the morning of February 13, together with other localities in the province, Van Chan district solemnly held the 2025 military enlistment ceremony to send off 200 new recruits to their duty of protecting the Fatherland.

Attending and encouraging the new recruits to join the army were comrades: Major General Nguyen Hong Thai - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 2; Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council; leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Department of Education and Training and leaders of Van Chan district.
In 2025, Van Chan district was assigned the target of calling 200 citizens to join the army, of which 165 citizens will perform military service and 35 citizens will perform police service. To do a good job of recruiting, the district Military Command has advised the district Military Service Council to direct communes and towns to review and grasp the number of young people of military age and carry out the steps of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in accordance with regulations. Carry out the preliminary selection work at the grassroots level and organize medical examinations in the district, ensuring quality and on time as prescribed. The process of selecting and calling citizens to join the army is democratic, fair, public and in accordance with the law; creating high consensus among the people.

Through the examinations, the district has completed the target of selecting citizens to join the army, ensuring the quantity and quality are higher than the previous year. With 100% of the new recruits meeting the requirements of political qualities, health and education level; of which 48 new recruits were party members before joining the army and 21 new recruits wrote a voluntary application to join the army.
In addition, the District Military Command, together with local Party committees and authorities, visited each family to meet citizens, grasp their thoughts and aspirations, complete documents, and visit, encourage, and give gifts to citizens joining the army.
New recruits eagerly leave for military service
At the ceremony, Van Chan district handed over 200 new recruits to 5 units including: Brigade 144 - General Staff; Training Center - Border Guard; Battalion 39 - General Staff, Military Region 2; Regiment 752 - Division 355 and Yen Bai Provincial Police.
Immediately after the military handover ceremony, leaders of Military Region 2 and Yen Bai province presented flowers and gifts to encourage the units receiving the soldiers and sent the new soldiers off to successfully fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland.
