Within the framework of the official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, on August 9, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited and worked in Isfahan province. Here, the National Assembly Chairman received Isfahan Governor Reza Mortazavi.
Governor Reza Mortazavi expressed his honor to welcome the National Assembly Chairman and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to visit Isfahan and introduced the socio-economic development situation of the province.
The Governor of Isfahan expressed his desire to cooperate with Vietnamese localities such as Ho Chi Minh City in areas of both sides' strengths such as trade, investment, culture, cooperation and exchange of experiences in heritage conservation.
Expressing his joy at visiting the ancient capital of Isfahan, a leading cultural and economic center of Iran, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked Governor Reza Mortazavi and the Isfahan provincial government for the warm and respectful welcome.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the position and role of Isfahan province; emphasized that the potential for cooperation between the two countries' localities is still very large; hoped that the Isfahan Provincial Government would strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities to realize the major directions in the bilateral relationship that were discussed and agreed upon by the leaders of the two sides during this visit.
The National Assembly Chairman welcomed the twinning proposal of the Isfahan provincial government and Ho Chi Minh City and suggested that the two sides soon discuss and sign a cooperation agreement between the two localities as well as between the ancient capital of Isfahan and the capital Hanoi.

After listening to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue share about the results of activities in Tehran, contributing to strengthening connections between localities and businesses of the two countries, the Governor of Isfahan expressed his wish that the two sides would increase exploitation of potential and similarities between the two countries to promote cooperation in various fields.
Governor Reza Mortazavi and representatives of the Isfahan Provincial Government believe that with Vietnam's open-door policy and deep integration and the determination of the two countries' senior leaders, bilateral relations, especially economic-trade cooperation, health care, education, and local cooperation, will continue to be strengthened.
Isfahan was the capital of Iran from the 6th to 8th centuries under the reign of the Safavid Dynasty. With an area of over 107,000 km2 and a population of 4.5 million, Isfahan is the third largest province in Iran. Located at the vital position on the "Silk Road", with a rich history, Isfahan is the leading cultural and economic center of Iran, home to unique Persian architecture and world heritage recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). |
