Reporting to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue about the formation and development process of Beximco, the leader of Beximco Group said that the group was established in 1976 and has now become the largest pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, and is also the only company in Bangladesh that is allowed to export products to the US market.
Speaking here, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his pleasure to visit Beximco and witness the development of a typical Bangladeshi enterprise. Referring to the group's two main fields of operation in pharmaceuticals and textiles, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that these are also two areas of strength for Vietnam and Bangladesh, and are also areas where the two countries can strengthen cooperation in the coming time. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the fact that Beximco has a number of products that will be exported to the Vietnamese market - a market of 100 million people and can also expand to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market with a population of 650 million people.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that healthcare and public health care are areas that Vietnam pays great attention to and encourages, especially healthcare projects, products and solutions that are increasingly important in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context. Research projects, production of pharmaceutical ingredients, application of technology to produce medicines, etc. are industries that receive special investment incentives.
The Vietnamese National Assembly has passed the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment (amended) with many new and breakthrough policies to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, create a legal basis for activities in the health sector, especially adding regulations on medical financial mechanisms, granting autonomy to hospitals in purchasing and selling drugs and medical equipment.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that currently, Vietnam has produced most of the medicine for the people and is focusing on producing medicine to prevent and control tropical diseases and veterinary medicine to serve domestic needs, but raw materials still have to be imported from abroad. Therefore, Beximco can research and coordinate with partners in Vietnam in this field, and can build a joint venture factory right in Vietnam.
The leaders of Beximco Group sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for taking the time to visit the group's headquarters and said they would study and implement the National Assembly Chairman's suggestions for cooperation, pledging to effectively carry out cooperation activities with Vietnam.
Beximco has been listed on the Bangladesh Stock Exchange since 1985 and the London Stock Exchange since 2005. Currently, Beximco has partnerships with major global companies and has won many domestic and international awards. In 2020, Beximco produced anti-COVID-19 drugs. The quality management system ensures world standards, focusing on research and development to optimize products and reduce production costs.
