On the occasion of the New Year, on the morning of February 6 (January 9), President Luong Cuong presided over the incense offering ceremony to open the spring of At Ty 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site.
Attending the incense offering ceremony were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and Hanoi city.
Continuing the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source, on the occasion of the traditional New Year every year, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site solemnly organizes an incense offering ceremony to commemorate and express gratitude to the ancestors who opened up the Thang Long culture and enlightened the Dai Viet civilization. This is an activity that contributes to preserving the good customs and practices of our ancestors, and inspiring the quintessence of national culture.
In front of the Dragon Threshold, Kinh Thien Palace - the relic site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, where the sacred energy of the country converges, President Luong Cuong and delegates conducted the incense offering ceremony to express their respect and pray for national prosperity, people's peace, national strength, and world peace; to commemorate and express gratitude to the merits of the ancestors who opened the Thang Long culture, enlightened the Dai Viet civilization, and passed it on to the glorious Ho Chi Minh era.
The Spring Incense Offering Ceremony includes many traditional rituals, such as palanquin procession, incense offering, sacrifices and many folk cultural activities, such as Dragon dance, festival drums, and flag dance. The ritual recreates the image of the Dragon and Fairy's children, with the wish for favorable weather, prosperity, national peace and security, promoting the martial spirit and the nation's tradition of remembering its roots. Next is the Thang Long festival drum performance, demonstrating the heroic spirit of Thang Long - Hanoi, a thousand years of civilization.
This is also the highlight in the series of events to welcome Tet and Spring at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi.
