This afternoon (December 12), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the proposal of the Department of Education and Training, agreeing to adjust the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 for preschool education, general education and continuing education in the area from January 23, 2025 (December 24, Giap Ty year) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year).

Thus, students in Ho Chi Minh City will have 11 days off for Lunar New Year.

The break has been increased by 2 days according to the 2024-2025 school year schedule that the City People's Committee previously issued. This is to facilitate students and parents to travel for Tet and not affect the school year schedule.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off, including 5 days off for Tet and 4 days off for the weekend.

Specifically, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have 5 days off for Lunar New Year, from Monday (January 27, 2025) to Friday (January 31, 2025), that is, from December 28, the year of Giap Thin, to January 3, the year of At Ty.

Because in 2025, all 5 Lunar New Year holidays fall on weekdays, workers will have 2 more weekend days off before and 2 days after Tet.
