Conquer the Dinosaur's Back

From early morning, we traveled by motorbike from the center of Ta Xua commune, Bac Yen district, following provincial road 112 for about 18 km to reach Chong Tra village, Hang Dong commune.

At Chong Tra village, we walked from the main road along the trail about 2 km to reach Dinosaur's Back. The scene that opened before our eyes was extremely majestic, the layers of clouds floating like waves of clouds crashing into the foot of the mountain, occasionally the layers of clouds in the distance blurred, revealing the poetic Hang Dong village in the mist, the waterfalls of clouds flowing across the mountain slopes... Dinosaur's Back has a very special terrain, the mountain ridge facing straight towards the valley between the two communes of Ta Xua and Hang Dong, seen from afar, the mountain looks like the back of a sleeping dinosaur.

Amidst the poetic yet majestic scenery, the sound of the Mong flute echoed, each high and low note combined with the flute dance of the artist, along with the neighing of horses, the "clack-clack" sound of the horses' footsteps as if walking on clouds, making us feel like we were lost in the world of fairy tales.

In addition to cloud hunting, visitors to Hang Dong commune also have the opportunity to experience the culture of the Mong ethnic group through activities such as weaving, pounding rice cakes, drawing beeswax; and enjoying cups of ancient Shan Tuyet tea from the area.
