According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on April 11, a cold air mass from the North is moving to the North. It is forecasted that on land from noon and afternoon on April 12, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region, then affect the Northwest, North Central and North Central regions. On land, the wind will change to Northeast level 3, coastal areas level 4-5, with some places gusting above level 6.

From the night of April 12, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing cold weather. From the night of April 13-14, the night and morning will be cold. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North will generally be between 16-19 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas below 13 degrees Celsius; the North Central region will generally be between 17-20 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air, from the early morning of April 12, the Northeast region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, and the rain will gradually decrease at night.

During the day and night of April 12, in the Northwestern region of the North and Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. Warning of the risk of localized heavy rain with high intensity of over 80 mm in 6 hours. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In addition, in the evening and night of April 12, in the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain. Rainfall is forecast to be from 15-30 mm, with some places having over 60 mm.

The meteorological agency warned that cold weather could affect livestock and poultry; and the growth and development of crops. Strong winds and large waves at sea could affect the operation of ships and other activities. Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind could affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
