On the afternoon of March 16, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team - Ha Dong District Police said that they had extinguished the fire at Van Quan Secondary School in Van Quan Ward.
Accordingly, at around 3:17 p.m., the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team received a fire alarm at Van Quan Secondary School. The Hanoi City Police Command Information Center dispatched 2 fire trucks of the Team and 2 fire trucks of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team (Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the City Police) to the scene to extinguish the fire.
At the scene, thick black smoke billowed from the second floor, causing panic among students and teachers. Teachers promptly evacuated students to the school yard to ensure safety.
After about 10 minutes of fighting the fire, the Fire Police and Rescue Force extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to the surrounding area.
According to the police, the fire was on the 2nd floor, block A, which is the vice principal's room. The fire covered an area of about 10 square meters, and the initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
The fire did not cause any human casualties, but property damage is being assessed by authorities.
Ha Dong District Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
