Apartment fire in France, 7 people died

A fire broke out on the night of July 17 (local time) at an apartment building in the working-class residential area of ​​Les Moulins, Nice city, southern France, killing 7 people.

Rescuers said they were faced with a “fierce apartment fire” on the seventh floor of the building. They carried out three rescues using aerial ladders and evacuated dozens of people. A total of 25 fire engines and 72 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire.

At the end of the search and rescue operation, despite the deployment of significant resources, 7 people were killed in the fire. Among the victims were 3 children and 1 teenager. 4 people were injured, of whom 1 is in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Investigators are looking into arson as the cause of the fire.
