Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Vu Duy Van, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province, said that Cai Lan port currently has a large amount of wood chips. The gathering of wood chips comes from people collecting trees that fell during the recent storm No. 3. Instead of throwing them away, people collect a large amount of acacia trees and then make wood chip products to sell to purchasing businesses.

According to Mr. Van, the source of wood chip products recently came from forest areas planted by households and businesses to prepare for the new forest planting season. This is a plan of Quang Ninh to help forest growers reduce the damage caused by storm No. 3.

Regarding the exploitation and liquidation of forests owned by the people and invested by the State, the Government promptly issued Decree No. 140/2024 regulating the liquidation of planted forests.

On that basis, the People's Council of Quang Ninh province at the recent session issued Resolution No. 50 on decentralization of authority for forest liquidation.

"The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province to receive documents on the liquidation of forests owned by the people and invested by the state," said Mr. Van.
