Many construction sections are at a standstill due to site clearance issues.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is in the final stages with the goal of completion before December 31 this year. At the construction site, contractors are doing their best to speed up construction, especially the roadbed filling. However, the project is still facing many difficulties, including land clearance problems at key locations and delays in the supply of fill soil, which are affecting the progress of the project.

Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is in the final stage with the goal of completion before December 31, 2025. |
In the area near the end of the route of component project 1 through Long Thanh district, Hai Dang Company is responsible for constructing more than 3km. According to actual records, although equipment and machinery have been mobilized to the construction site, this unit has not been able to start construction due to 1.3km of land and no fill.
At the end of the route, Construction Corporation No. 1 is also facing a similar situation. There are still about 800m2 that have not been handed over, but this unit has flexibly implemented a number of items such as digging the roadbed, drilling piles, casting the abutments of Quan Thu bridge, DT769 overpass, as well as constructing a civil underpass, culverts and crushed stone foundation.
Along Highway 51 to the starting point, Package 18 constructed by Truong Son Company is also facing difficulties with site clearance. The section junction with Vo Nguyen Giap Street has basically been cleared, with only a few households remaining. The contractor has started clearing and mobilizing machinery to dig, fill, and drill piles. However, many other areas have yet to be implemented due to slow site clearance.

At some points, construction units are working at a slow pace due to slow site handover. |
As for the section undertaken by Hoa Binh 479 Company, the unit is focusing on excavation, site clearance and pile drilling. Notably, in the area constructed by Trung Nam Company, the construction site is the busiest thanks to no more site problems and ready soil sources.
Contractors wait for site clearance, hoping to soon resolve problems
According to the contractors, the slow mobilization of machinery is due to the fact that the ground has not been completely cleared, along with the procedures for transporting the fill soil to the construction site that have not been completed. This makes it impossible to implement some important sections synchronously. The contractors committed that when there is enough ground and fill soil, they will increase manpower and equipment to complete the road embankment during the dry season.
In addition, the construction units also recommended that the authorities speed up the relocation of electricity and water infrastructure at intersections to facilitate the implementation of weak soil pile drilling and bridge construction. In particular, speeding up the construction of two resettlement areas in Bien Hoa is urgent, helping people stabilize their lives and hand over the land soon.

Construction units hope to soon remove obstacles to speed up progress in key areas. |
Faced with pressure on progress, the leaders of Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh District have mobilized all their forces to mobilize, propagate and develop a plan to enforce against households that have not yet handed over their land. Currently, Bien Hoa City has handed over about 87% of the area to be recovered. About 279 remaining cases are being classified, with the enforcement plan to be completed in March. Long Thanh District is also handling more than 100 households that are still stuck this month. Two resettlement areas in Bien Hoa are expected to be built in 2025.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway has a total length of 54km, of which the section passing through Dong Nai is 34km long. When completed, this route will play an important role in connecting the Southeast region, reducing pressure on National Highway 51 and promoting regional economic development. However, with current difficulties, resolving land acquisition and resettlement issues is an urgent task to bring the project to completion on schedule.
