In the early morning of April 3, a fire broke out at a scrap yard on Tran Hai Phung Street, Pham Van Hai Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
At this time, the couple who were looking after the yard went to buy food and discovered it, shouted and reported it to the owner of the scrap yard.

The yard contained many flammable items, so the fire quickly spread. The Fire Prevention and Fighting Team of Binh Chanh District, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department, and Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

The road to the scrap yard is narrow, and the yard is surrounded by iron fences and corrugated iron roofs, making it difficult to fight the fire.
The water hose was extended deep inside to reach the fire. The fire brigade split into many directions, using water hoses to spray water to isolate the fire. After more than 1 hour of fire fighting, the fire was brought under control.

At the scene, the scrap yard was burned and severely damaged. A car and many other properties stored inside the scrap yard were burned and severely damaged. While fighting the fire, some firefighters suffered burns to their arms.

It is known that every day at the scrap yard, many workers come to sort and collect plastic bags, then press them into large blocks to recycle plastic.
