VSP officers immediately stopped McCauley, but he accelerated, leading to a pursuit. McCauley continued to drive through a red light, hitting a car, causing both vehicles to go off the road. The collision left a woman in McCauley's car and the other driver with minor injuries, while McCauley was reportedly uninjured.

The incident occurred while McCauley was off-duty. McCauley has been charged with evading police and the case remains under investigation.
