(NLDO) - It is forecasted that from 6-22 pm on January 24 and 5-11 am on January 25, main roads, especially roads leading to expressways, will be very crowded.
On the afternoon of January 24, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that they will simultaneously mobilize to ensure traffic safety for people returning to their hometowns.
51 units of Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police will be deployed simultaneously this afternoon.
Accordingly, at 3:00 p.m. the same day, 51 Traffic Police units in Ho Chi Minh City, including 29 patrol and control units of PC08 on both waterways and roads and 22 units of districts, towns and Thu Duc City will be deployed to ensure traffic order and safety, creating the best conditions for people to return home to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025.
On the main roads and gateways of Ho Chi Minh City such as Le Quang Dao, Phan Van Khai (old National Highway 22); Do Muoi, Le Duc Anh, Le Kha Phieu (old National Highway 1); Van Tien Dung (old National Highway 50); Hoang Cam (old National Highway 1K); routes leading to Tan Son Nhat airport, Saigon station, Mien Tay bus station, Mien Dong bus station (old, new), An Suong bus station, etc., there will be traffic police patrolling continuously to ensure traffic order and safety, promptly detect and handle incidents on the road.
At complex intersections, traffic police and other forces will be present regularly to regulate and direct traffic.
PC08 forecasts that from 6-10pm on January 24 and 5-11am on January 25, main roads, especially roads leading to expressways, will be very crowded, with the possibility of local traffic congestion at the entrances and exits.
PC08 recommends that before traveling, people should check information, news, listen to the radio as well as use the traffic order application to know the traffic situation on the planned routes to have a suitable route, avoid going into congested areas that will cause difficulties and waste travel time.
