Pass the preliminary round and enter the… closed group.

Good land attracts birds, your place is at VietinBank ”; “Where are you going in such a hurry, stop by - there are countless good jobs” - Those are the opening sentences of a recruitment notice for positions such as: teller, appraiser, customer service manager, sales manager, assistant director, etc. on a Facebook page named “Vietinbank Recruitment”.

This page has a representative image of VietinBank's logo, the interface is almost identical to the bank's official fanpage, making many people mistakenly think it is VietinBank's official recruitment page.

In addition, there are currently a number of Facebook pages such as " Vietinbank Recruitment Nationwide", "Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade - Vietinbank Recruitment" ... specializing in posting bank recruitment information.

The subjects also impersonated the bank's email when using the email "[email protected]" to send "online preliminary selection" invitations to candidates. After registering for "online preliminary selection", candidates were invited to join a closed Telegram chat group "for convenient connection and exchange".

Some recruitment websites confirmed by VietinBank are fake.

However, VietinBank confirmed that all the Facebook pages posting recruitment information mentioned above are fake, created by subjects with the purpose of fraud, requiring candidates to pay deposit fees, reservation fees, recruitment fees, etc.

VietinBank said it has recorded many cases of candidates receiving recruitment information and participating in fake recruitment processes, through which criminals carry out goals and actions with bad intentions, and the ultimate goal is still to cheat money from gullible people.

Thereby, the bank recommends that candidates and customers be wary of fake VietinBank messages and not click on strange links in messages.

The bank also recommends that candidates and customers absolutely do not pay any money during the recruitment process, and affirms that it does not collect any fees from candidates.

VietinBank confirmed that this email is fake.

Similarly, BIDV Bank said it is also being exploited by scammers to fake recruitment information.

Specifically, recently, some bad groups have used many sophisticated tricks, impersonating the BIDV brand to defraud candidates by asking them to participate in tasks, pay fees...

The common method of these scams is that the subject drafts fake BIDV documents, forges signatures, seals, emails and recruitment posts.

BIDV affirms that recruitment is carried out in accordance with the bank's procedures and regulations. Therefore, candidates who want to apply for a job at BIDV should note the following points to avoid being scammed or having their assets stolen: BIDV does not charge any fees to candidates.

The bank also does not require candidates to provide bank account information during the recruitment process; does not require candidates to download apps or register for any applications; does not use personal/organizational brokerage to introduce jobs for a fee.

The bank also recommends that candidates should only look for recruitment information posted on the bank's official website or Facebook page, or the Vietnamworks recruitment news site.

BIDV officials also do not proactively contact job seekers. Therefore, candidates should be absolutely vigilant and refuse private messages or interview appointments at addresses other than BIDV headquarters. When confirming an interview appointment, double-check the exact address of the headquarters and interview location.

BIDV also recommends that candidates do not provide OTP code information, deposit fee, reservation fee, account passwords to anyone to register for recruitment/interview.

Many new scams appear

In addition to impersonating bank recruitment, recently scammers have also impersonated bank officials, via Facebook, Zalo, Viber, phone, text messages, etc., to invite customers to issue/increase credit card limits online with attractive incentives to intentionally defraud and withdraw money from customers' accounts/cards.

Faced with this new scam, banks advise customers to be vigilant against fake calls/text messages from authorities or bank officials inviting them to issue or increase credit card limits or other financial services.

Do not provide personal information, account information, card information, OTP code, etc. to anyone.

If you suspect a risk of fraud or scam, you should immediately notify the bank via the Customer Service Center hotline. If you are unfortunately scammed or have your property stolen, you should immediately report it to the nearest police station.

The end of the year is also the peak time for fraud and forgery, especially high-tech crimes. The subjects often steal ID card/CCCD image information and use sophisticated high technology to illegally edit information to register for opening bank accounts.

The subject searches for and takes control of weakly secured social network accounts with the same name as fake bank accounts to send fake messages to relatives and friends of the victim; asking to borrow/transfer money to appropriate.

Banks recommend that customers keep their personal information, login name/password/PIN/OTP, etc. of banking services confidential when making transactions; be careful to avoid disclosing information via social media channels, online payments, etc.

Be vigilant and verify information from the social media account owner when receiving messages asking to borrow/transfer money.

Implement two-factor authentication on popular social media platforms (Facebook, Zalo,...) to protect social media accounts.
