Many practical and meaningful activities during Workers' Month

- This year's Workers' Month takes place from May 1 to 31, with the theme "Vietnamese workers are pioneers entering a new era". Through activities to affirm the role, position and contribution of the working class in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; as a pioneering force in the cause of national innovation, creative labor, confidently entering a new era - the era of national development. At the same time, it encourages workers to actively study, improve their qualifications and skills, change careers, approach modern labor trends, adapt to the context of international integration, and prepare for a new stage of development of the country. Workers' Month takes place in parallel with the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), so activities will be organized in conjunction to raise awareness and compliance with OSH laws for employees and employers, etc.

- What are the outstanding activities in Workers' Month 2025 in the province, sir?

- As an organization representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, trade unions at all levels in the province have developed plans to organize many bold, widespread, meaningful and practical activities aimed at the grassroots level, for the benefit of union members and workers. Specifically, on April 25, the Provincial Federation of Labor will coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to organize the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025 at Suoi Dau Industrial Park (Cam Lam district). On the morning of May 5, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize a flag-raising ceremony for May at April 2 Square (Nha Trang City) with more than 500 delegates attending.

Along with that, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize the program "Meeting and dialogue in May between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and workers"; Unions at all levels will organize the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era" to propagate and mobilize union members and workers to study and improve their skills. At the same time, deploy emulation movements, encourage union members and workers to innovate, have many initiatives, improve techniques, apply modern technology in production; organize competitions to propose ideas, initiatives, technical solutions to innovate production processes... Thereby, honoring and praising workers with achievements in labor and production with many initiatives, creativity, achieving high achievements in competitions of skilled workers.

This year, the "Thank you workers" program continues to be expanded with activities of leaders of Party committees, authorities, National Assembly deputies, People's Council deputies, employers... visiting, encouraging, giving gifts to workers; proposing business leaders to organize "Trade Union Meals" that are more delicious than usual to show gratitude to workers. Thereby, the Provincial Federation of Labor will present 1,500 gifts to union members and workers who have suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, and are in difficult circumstances. At the same time, unions at all levels organize activities to care for, support, and express gratitude to workers who have made efforts to overcome difficulties, are exemplary, and have many years of seniority; organize sightseeing, vacations, and meetings with workers' families. Unions at all levels also organize a peak month for union member development, establish grassroots unions, and introduce and develop party members who are workers. At the same time, review, discover, build core union members, typical advanced examples in labor, production and union activities to select and introduce to the Party committee for training and consideration of admission to the Party. In addition, union levels focus on dialogue, collective bargaining, focusing on working hours, occupational safety and hygiene; promote emulation movements and improve the effectiveness of mass movements in occupational safety and hygiene; strengthen monitoring activities, coordinate inspections and examinations of occupational safety and hygiene.

- To make Workers' Month widespread and effective, what issues should unions at all levels focus on, sir?

- Based on the plan issued by the Provincial Federation of Labor, trade unions at all levels proactively report and propose to the Party Committees and authorities at the same level on plans to organize activities for Workers' Month and Action Month on OSH in 2025 at their level to ensure practicality, effectiveness, and strong spread. At the same time, actively participate in activities organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor. Trade unions at the grassroots level directly directing at least 70% or more of grassroots trade unions in all types of enterprises have at least 1 activity responding to Workers' Month and Action Month on OSH; 50% or more of grassroots trade unions in administrative agencies and public service units have at least 1 appropriate activity responding to Workers' Month and Action Month on OSH. Response activities need to be practical, effective, focused, and suitable to the working and production conditions of localities, units, and enterprises, attracting the participation and coordination of all levels, sectors, organizations, media agencies, enterprises, union members, and workers.

Along with that, trade unions at all levels need to actively mobilize and coordinate with agencies, organizations, and enterprises to organize cultural, artistic, physical education, sports, sightseeing, picnics, vacations, and periodic health check-ups for workers; visit and support union members who have occupational accidents and diseases to overcome difficulties; proactively coordinate well with state management agencies on occupational safety and health after organizational restructuring, creating close connections between trade unions at all levels and state management agencies. Organizational activities must create strong spread and attention from the whole society, especially employers and authorities at all levels, to the work, life, and issues of workers...
