Responding to the 2025 Tree Planting Festival, naval officers and soldiers across the country have planted and cared for thousands of trees. The activity not only aims to practically implement President Ho Chi Minh's advice but also has special significance as 2025 is considered the "finish line" year for the implementation of the One Billion Tree Planting Program "For a Green Vietnam" launched by the Government.
On the morning of February 3, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Naval Region 5 Command held the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" in the Spring of At Ty 2025.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan emphasized: "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" is an annual activity, not only bringing practical effects in protecting the ecological environment, improving the quality of life but also becoming a cultural beauty in the first days of spring for officers and soldiers of the unit.
Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to focus on propaganda work so that officers, soldiers and people of all walks of life are fully aware of the purpose and significance of tree planting; at the same time, proactively select and plant tree varieties suitable to the planning, soil, climate and actual conditions of each agency and unit...

Immediately after the launching ceremony, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5 Command from the mainland to remote islands planted more than 1,200 trees of various kinds.
Previously, the tree planting movement was vigorously implemented by officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command with many practical activities. In 2024, officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command planted more than 2,450 shade trees, 1,400 fruit trees, more than 1,267m2 of flower beds, lawns... contributing to creating a green, airy space, building a regular, green, clean and beautiful unit landscape. The movement has contributed to raising awareness and responsibility for officers, soldiers and people of all walks of life in the stationed area in protecting the environment and responding to climate change.
On the same day, in Da Nang city, Brigade 172 (Navy Region 3) also held the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" Spring At Ty 2025. At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Brigade Commander of Brigade 172 emphasized that each officer and soldier must be responsible for protecting and taking care of the trees after planting so that the trees grow well, creating a "bright, green, clean, and beautiful" barracks environment.

Agencies and units throughout the Brigade participated in planting thousands of trees of all kinds (including timber and fruit trees) in the campus areas, training grounds and around the unit.
