Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn announced on March 30 that his country will provide $100,000 in initial emergency aid to Myanmar after the earthquake.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Sokhonn made the above statement at an emergency meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers discussing the consequences of the earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand held online on March 30.
“We are looking at the possibility of further contributions to the relief effort, including providing medical supplies and other essentials as appropriate,” Mr. Sokhonn stressed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Sokhonn affirmed that Cambodia stands united with ASEAN member countries to support Myanmar and Thailand after the earthquake.
“What we will do to help them is a demonstration of our unity and solidarity, as well as a strong message that Myanmar and Thailand are not alone in facing this crisis,” a senior Cambodian official said.
"As many people are still trapped under collapsed buildings and need medical assistance, we must continue to act quickly to save as many lives as possible. Every minute is important," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Sokhonn emphasized.
