Expanding search area for 2 missing victims
According to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, on November 22, the search for 2 missing victims of the garbage truck (specialized truck) with license plate 75C - 044.83 colliding with the railing of Binh Thanh suspension bridge and falling into Huu Trach river (Binh Thanh commune, Huong Tra town, Thua Thien Hue province) on the morning of November 21, is still being actively deployed by the forces.
Downstream of Binh Thanh suspension bridge, the search team of Hue Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company coordinated with the rescue forces of Thua Thien Hue province to expand the search area to the downstream of Huu Trach river.
The local government of Binh Thanh commune mobilized 3 motorboats to coordinate with functional forces to search along the river.
The Quang Nam SOS team with 2 motorboats, 1 submersible, about 8 people and many specialized equipment also arrived at the scene to carry out the search since the night of November 21.
Meanwhile, on the morning of November 22, it continued to rain, Binh Dien Hydropower Plant in the upper reaches of Huu Trach River resumed regulating water to the lower reaches, so diving to search could not be carried out.
The river water rose high and flowed rapidly, making the search for the two missing victims difficult. On the afternoon of November 22, the diving search was still not possible, and forces and people used boats and canoes to search on the river.
Trucks and passenger vans are prohibited, vehicles with 5 seats or less are allowed to cross the bridge.
Notably, in parallel with the search for the two missing victims, the authorities have also agreed on a plan to limit the vehicle load on the Binh Thanh suspension bridge over the Huu Trach river after the car with license plate 75C - 044.83 collided with the bridge railing and fell into the river, causing the two missing people mentioned above.
Ban trucks and passenger cars, only allow vehicles with 5 seats or less to cross Binh Thanh suspension bridge instead of limiting the load to 8 tons as currently.
The section of the Binh Thanh suspension bridge railing that was damaged by a garbage truck and fell into the river on the morning of November 21 has been temporarily repaired. The unit assigned to maintain it will handle the repair to ensure it is solid in the next few days.
Binh Thanh suspension bridge is located on the main road (currently provincial road 12D) connecting the center of Binh commune with national highway 49A (Hue - A Luoi), built in 2001 according to the design of a cable suspension bridge nearly 140m long, with a surface width of more than 4m.
Over many years of use, the increasing traffic volume has caused the bridge to deteriorate.
Previously, Giao Thong Newspaper reported that at around 7:15 a.m. on November 21, garbage truck with license plate 75C-044.83 passed Binh Thanh suspension bridge (Binh Thanh commune, Huong Tra town, Thua Thien Hue province).

At the time of the accident, there were 2 people in the car, who are currently missing.
