Quach Tuan Du participates in the program Vietnamese Family
Appearing on the program "Vietnamese Family Home" (to be broadcast on HTV7 channel on June 30), singer Quach Tuan Du shared about his personal life that attracted attention.
Singer Quach Tuan Du choked up and shared: "When I was 10 years old, my father suddenly passed away. After watching football, he vomited blood, was hospitalized and died. My mother was only 35 years old at that time but had to shoulder the burden of raising 5 children. She was a very strong woman who had to overcome many difficulties alone. She had to sell her house and land to raise her children."
Singer Quach Tuan Du shared that after losing his father, he had to drop out of school in the 9th grade because his family was too poor. He said that he also used to sell lottery tickets, guava, sugar cane, hot bread, fried bread, and rice cakes to help his mother.
"Surely many people in Tan Chau, An Giang will remember my image in the past, a 10-year-old boy selling goods on the street. Recently, I also organized a live show without selling tickets to show gratitude to my hometown. It was a journey to go and return. Through my own story, I hope that children will have more faith and be strong to overcome difficulties."
Looking back at that difficult period, singer Quach Tuan Du said he is always grateful for the audience's love to achieve the success he has today.
That is why the male singer always wants to help people in difficult situations like he did in the past. Quach Tuan Du left his hometown to start a career in Ho Chi Minh City at the age of 16 and was adopted by singer Ngoc Son.
Quach Tuan Du almost died 4 times
Quach Tuan Du said he almost died four times in his life. According to the male singer, the first time was when he was sitting on the back of a colleague's motorbike and was hit by a taxi.
The singer from An Giang fell and hit his head on the road, losing consciousness. He was taken to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) in a coma. Luckily, he was saved by doctors in time.
The second time, Quach Tuan Du stood near a gas stove that exploded in a restaurant. He was burned and had to spend a long time actively recovering.
The third near-death experience was when he lost control of the car and drove straight into the river right after finishing a performance. "When the car was about to sink, I was lucky to open the door and swim up," he recalled. The male singer added that after that time, he was haunted and it took him several years to dare to drive again.
The fourth time was when Quach Tuan Du contracted Covid-19. At that time, ventilators were scarce, he thought he could handle it so he didn't use it and gave it to other patients.
When his condition worsened and he could not breathe, he thought he would not survive. He considered himself lucky that the doctor intervened with a ventilator in time and narrowly escaped death.
In addition to those 4 times, Quach Tuan Du also had a stroke on a plane or a stage collapse, or was stabbed by broken glass.
That helped him change a lot.
Many times on the brink of life and death, Quach Tuan Du said he has changed a lot compared to before. "Money and fame no longer mean anything to me. What's important is that I live happily at the present time" - he said.
That's why, at the age of 41, he also wrote a will and left all his property, house, and land to his family. After several love affairs, Quach Tuan Du is currently enjoying his single life.
In addition to his own business, he said he is still very passionate about singing and regularly releases music products.
