For the road sector, the Minister of Construction signed 3 documents, including:
Agreement between the two governments on joint construction of cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy (Ha Giang, Vietnam) - Thien Bao (Yunnan, China) international border gate area.
Protocol between the two Governments on simplifying import and export procedures through Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate to jointly build cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate area.
Memorandum of Understanding on Road Engineering Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Transport of China.
The Ministry of Construction said that the signed railway documents play a significant role and contribute to accelerating the preparation of railway projects connecting Vietnam and China. The signed documents on the construction of cross-border traffic works will create an important legal basis for Ha Giang province of Vietnam and Yunnan province of China to invest in the construction of cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate area.

In addition, the signed memorandum of understanding on road engineering cooperation will promote cooperation between the two countries' ministries on road engineering, development of technical standards and regulations, research on new technologies, new materials, construction management and maintenance.
Regarding the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway line, the Ministry of Construction estimates the total investment for this project to be more than VND200,000 billion, including the segment from Hai Phong to Quang Ninh on the coastal route Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.
This railway line has a total planned length of more than 460 km, starting at Lao Cai border gate connecting with the Chinese railway and ending at Cai Lan station (Ha Long city, Quang Ninh).
At the first meeting of the Steering Committee for important national railway projects recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that this April the Ministry of Finance submit to the Prime Minister the establishment of a State Appraisal Council for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh railway project, to conduct appraisal along with the preparation of the project's feasibility study report, meeting the construction schedule in December this year.
