(Dan Tri) - In more than 100 days from now until the end of May, Binh Dinh province aims to complete the elimination of 4,442 temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions, martyrs' relatives, poor households, and near-poor households.
On February 9, Binh Dinh province launched a campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions, martyrs' relatives, poor, near-poor, and newly escaped poverty households.
In Hoai Nhon town, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, attended the launching ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony to build a house for Mr. Vo Van Cu, a war invalid whose son is deaf and mute.

Mrs. Bui Thi Thanh (69 years old, Mr. Cu's wife), emotionally said: "The family's old house, built nearly 40 years ago, has deteriorated and is at risk of collapsing at any time. My husband and I do not have the conditions to build a new house. Now the government is interested in supporting us with money to build a new house, contributing to reducing difficulties in life."
Mr. Nguyen An Hung (55 years old) and his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam (54 years old), in Hung My 1 village, Cat Hung commune, Phu Cat district, were happy to receive support to build a new house.
Mr. Hung's family is a studious family, because even though they live in a dilapidated house, sometimes hungry, sometimes full, he and his wife are determined to raise their children to study.
Not letting their parents down, the three children studied hard and passed the university entrance exam. Up to now, the eldest daughter has graduated from the University of Economics and Law (HCMC) and is working temporarily in HCMC. The second daughter has graduated from the University of Technical Education HCMC.
The youngest son in high school, despite having a heart condition, is in his third year of college.
"The old house was built more than 30 years ago. During the rainy season, the walls seep and water leaks everywhere, but my husband and I still accept it. We have to take care of our children's education so that they can have stable jobs in the future," Mrs. Nam confided.
According to the plan, in 2025, Binh Dinh province will have 4,429 families in need of support to build and repair houses.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, presented gifts to Ms. Vo Thi Le Binh's household (My Hoa commune, Phu My district) on the day of groundbreaking for the construction of a new house (Photo: Cong Son).
The total budget to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Dinh province is more than 215 billion VND.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that this funding is basic support for materials, completing the house requires the cooperation of people and other resources.
Mr. Tuan also requested that construction be closely supervised so that the house has quality and meets the 3 hard standards: hard foundation, hard frame and hard roof.
"By the end of 2025, Binh Dinh will have no more temporary or dilapidated houses. I call on socio-political organizations, businesses, and people, together with the government, to join hands to support poor and near-poor households and policy families, with the spirit of "helping each other" and "leaving no one behind", said the Chairman of Binh Dinh.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, said that in recent years, the policy of the provincial leaders is that along with economic development, we must pay attention to social security. This includes supporting and improving housing for poor households, near-poor households, and policy families.

On February 9, Binh Dinh province simultaneously started construction of 382 houses.
"From now on, all localities will consider the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses to help poor and near-poor households and families with preferential policies improve their lives as a top priority. This is a meaningful and practical task to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Binh Dinh's liberation, prepare for Party Congresses at all levels, and also an opportunity to show gratitude for the contributions of families with preferential policies...", the Binh Dinh Secretary requested.
