Kinhtedothi-On the afternoon of December 18, Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai visited and congratulated the Capital Command and the City Veterans Association on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), 35 years of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
Also attending were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Do Anh Tuan.
At the Hanoi Veterans Association, reporting to the Secretary of the City Party Committee and the City leaders on the results of the Association's work in the past time, Chairman of the City Veterans Association Le Nhu Duc said that the City Veterans Association currently has over 280,000 members participating in activities at 784 grassroots organizations and 5,197 branches. Among the members, there are 95,169 comrades who are party members; 15,608 comrades who are senior officials; 86 comrades who are Heroes of the Armed Forces and Heroes of Labor in the renovation period; 25,897 comrades who are wounded and sick soldiers.
Most of the members have undergone training and matured in the two resistance wars for national liberation, protecting the southwestern and northern borders. Therefore, the city's war veterans and war veterans' association members always uphold and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the tradition of loyalty, solidarity, exemplary behavior and innovation of Vietnam's war veterans; have a strong political stance, absolutely trust and set an example in strictly implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws.
During the 2020-2025 term, the City Veterans Association has 7,929 members participating in Party committees and Party cells; in 2 years (2023-2024), hundreds of City Veterans Association members were awarded the title "Good People, Good Deeds" at all levels and 2 exemplary members were honored by the City as "Outstanding Citizens of the Capital".
The Capital Veterans Association has taken the lead in implementing and propagating to mobilize people to relocate graves to hand over the construction site of the Ring Road 4 - Capital Region Project; proactively and closely coordinated with the City Social Policy Bank to mobilize members to borrow capital to develop production, business, and create jobs. Up to now, the total outstanding debt of the City Veterans Association is managing more than 2,205 billion VND (accounting for 18.6% of the City's outstanding debt) with 40,279 borrowers; solving the problem of 49,168 workers with stable income; thereby, contributing to stabilizing social security, recognized by authorities at all levels and the People.
The movement “Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business” has been promoted and effectively promoted. The whole city has 3,430 collective economic models owned by war veterans. Of which, there are 2,343 farms and family farms; 315 cooperative groups, 116 cooperatives, 656 small and medium enterprises creating jobs for 67,682 workers...

Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that the City Party Committee highly appreciated, acknowledged, and had absolute confidence in the City War Veterans Association at all levels. Reviewing the outstanding results of the City in recent times, the Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that in the general results of the City, there is consensus and support from the majority of the Capital's people, including the role of the City War Veterans Association at all levels. By mobilizing a large number of members, being active, enthusiastic, and responsible with many creative ways, the City War Veterans Association has participated with local Party committees and authorities in propaganda and mobilization in many forms, creating a positive effect and consensus among the people.
Emphasizing that in 2025, the country, the capital and the armed forces will have many important political events, especially preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai hopes that the City Veterans Association will continue to closely follow the political tasks of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the City's plan, step up propaganda, in order to contribute to the overall success of the Party Congresses at all levels. At the same time, well implement propaganda work in the task of arranging and streamlining the apparatus according to the direction of the Central Committee.
Raising the issue that the city is currently focusing on environmental protection, Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai hopes that members of the City Veterans Association will actively participate, accompany and mobilize the people to join hands to build the city increasingly "bright, green, clean and beautiful". At the same time, the veterans will continue to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army in general, and the armed forces of the capital in particular, to continue to contribute to the overall development of the city.
Next, Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and leaders of Hanoi City visited and congratulated the Capital Command.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized that with the consensus and unanimity of the entire Party, army and people, the city has basically completed the socio-economic plan targets for 2024. The above results were achieved thanks to the active contributions of the Capital Command.
Praising, acknowledging and appreciating the important role of the Capital Command in advising the City to firmly deploy the all-people national defense posture, contributing significantly to maintaining security and safety for the Capital, the Secretary of the City Party Committee believes that officers and soldiers of the Capital Command will continue to promote tradition, uphold the spirit of initiative, continue to maintain a peaceful environment for Hanoi to develop sustainably and successfully complete the set goals and tasks.
On behalf of the Capital Command, Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Capital Command thanked the leaders of the City Party Committee for their attention to the officers and soldiers of the Capital Command. At the same time, he affirmed that in the process of building and growing, the armed forces of the capital city of Hanoi have always received the attention, direction and facilitation of the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee; the coordination of departments, branches, localities and the support of the people so that the armed forces of the capital city can successfully complete their tasks.
Sharing with the leaders of the City Party Committee about some achievements of officers and soldiers in 2024, Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Tuan said that officers and soldiers of the Capital Command will continue to promote the tradition of the thousand-year-old civilized and heroic Capital; constantly strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks; worthy of the trust and love of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital.
