Launch pad for business dreams

On the morning of November 27, in Thai Binh City (Thai Binh Province), the Final Round of the "Rural Youth Startup Project" Competition 2024 took place in an exciting and hopeful atmosphere. This is a special playground organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to encourage rural youth to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and career building, contributing to building a modern and sustainable agricultural economy.

The competition was launched in March 2024, attracting the participation of 461 projects from all 63 provinces and cities across the country, including 84 projects from youths from 20 ethnic minorities. After the Semi-final round held online in September 2024, the 32 best projects were selected for the Final round.

Speaking at the program, Head of the Central Youth Union's Rural Youth Department Nguyen Thi Thu Van emphasized that the Competition is not only a place to encourage creativity but also a stepping stone for rural youth to go further in their entrepreneurial journey.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Van shared: “We hope that the competition will foster unique ideas, encourage young people to boldly innovate and apply technology to develop the rural economy. This year's projects clearly demonstrate creativity, adhere to sustainable trends and make practical contributions to the community.”

The projects participating in this year's Final Round are diverse in fields, from smart agriculture, clean production to circular economic models. Many ideas are not only groundbreaking but also have high potential for practical application, meeting the development needs of the agricultural sector.

Accompanying young people on their entrepreneurial journey, the Central Youth Union has built an attractive prize structure, including 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 3 Consolation prizes.

In particular, qualified projects will have the opportunity to receive loans from the National Employment Fund with a maximum of 1 billion VND. This is considered an important resource to help young people realize their ideas, while contributing to job creation in the locality.

Mr. Dao Thai Son (Hai Phong City), author of an innovative project on organic agriculture, shared that the competition was a valuable opportunity for him to perfect his ideas and seek support. “If I receive the award and capital support, I will invest to expand the scale of production, and at the same time create more jobs for people in my hometown,” he shared.

The competition is not only about awarding prizes but also an opportunity for businesses to access new ideas and find high-quality human resources. Many businesses participating in the program expressed surprise at the practicality and potential of the projects.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, representative of an agricultural enterprise participating in the program, commented: “This year’s projects are not only new but also very practical. This is an opportunity for our business to find potential partners and support young people to develop their ideas.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Van affirmed that the Central Youth Union will continue to accompany rural youth in their entrepreneurial journey, not only through competitions but also through specific support programs. Entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector not only creates economic value but also contributes to building a sustainable community.

The Final Round of the "Rural Youth Startup Project" competition is one of the outstanding activities at the 19th National Rural Youth Festival and Luong Dinh Cua Award Ceremony in 2024, with the participation of the advertising and communication unit of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank).
