Germany's Harry Kane scored his second hat-trick for Bayern, in the 8-0 win over Darmstadt in round 9 of the Bundesliga on the evening of October 28.
At the start of the match, all eyes were on Manuel Neuer. The 37-year-old goalkeeper was playing his first game since being injured in December. However, the focus of the match soon shifted to the referee and red cards. In the sixth minute, after losing the ball to Marvin Mehlem, Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich accepted the penalty to prevent the opponent from entering the penalty area.
In the 21st minute, a similar situation occurred at the other end. Initially, due to a mistake by Klaus Gjasula for a foul on Konrad Laimer in the penalty area, the referee only gave Bayern a yellow card and a penalty. However, after VAR announced that the foul was outside the penalty area, he showed Gjasula a red card and awarded Bayern a direct free kick.

In the 41st minute, Darmstadt lost Matej Maglica from a similar situation. The Croatian midfielder fouled Kane right outside the penalty area and the referee showed him a third straight red card.
For the first time in Bundesliga history, both teams started the second half with 19 men. And with the one-man advantage, Bayern did not miss the opportunity to win big. In the 51st minute, Kane headed in from close range from a cross by Noussair Mazraoui to open the scoring. Bayern continued to take the initiative after that, despite Kingsley Coman missing two chances.
In the 56th minute, from Laimer's low pass, Sane doubled the gap. The former Man City player scored his seventh goal for Bayern in the Bundesliga this season. After two quick goals, Darmstadt almost collapsed. The newly promoted team could not keep up with the speedy, coordinated and accurate finishing of the defending champions. In the 60th minute, Jamal Musiala shot low from 20 meters to make it 3-0, four minutes before Sane shot low from Coman's pass to make it 4-0. Sane only needed nine rounds this season to equal his record of eight goals last season.

Leading 5-0 within 18 minutes, but Bayern still refused to stop. In the 71st and 76th minutes, Thomas Muller assisted Mazraoui and Musiala to raise the score to 6-0 and 7-0. In the 88th minute, from Sane's pass, Kane completed his hat-trick.
Kane scored his second hat-trick for Bayern this season, following his first in the 7-0 win over Bochum on September 23. The former Tottenham star has scored 14 goals in 13 games in all competitions for Bayern, including 12 in nine Bundesliga games.
Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga with 23 points, after seven wins and two draws. Meanwhile, Leverkusen are second with 22 points, but have played one game less, while Darmstadt are 14th with seven points.
