Candidates say the test is long but easy to get points
Candidate Thai Duong (Sao Nam Secondary School) said: "This year's essay topic makes many students easily get lost in writing about the social argument section because there are too many things to discuss. Therefore, it will be easy to not balance the time to complete the literary argument section.
The environmental topic is quite interesting and current, however if young people live superficially and do not learn about environmental protection, they will have little material to write about.

Sharing the same opinion, candidate Ngoc Duy (Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School) also said that this year's essay was quite long. "This year's essay was quite good, easy to write but difficult to get high scores for students who did not study deeply and did not have many arguments to argue the social argumentation section."
However, most candidates at Phan Chau Trinh High School said that very few finished their exams early. Many candidates said they were quite surprised when the literature essay section included the work "Fishing Boats".

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - head of the literature group at Tran Phu High School - said that this year's literature exam has many new features in the direction of innovation approaching the 2018 general education program.
Reading comprehension is a type of argumentative text in the Literature 7 textbook - Connecting knowledge with life.
The first two questions in the reading comprehension section only ask at the recognition level, so students can easily answer. Question c raises the level of understanding and question d is application. However, for question c, students must apply knowledge beyond the text to be able to answer the question well. Question d is a familiar question type that many students have practiced, so they can still answer the ideas completely.

Mr. Hoa thinks that the social argument is quite good and practical when the environmental protection movement is receiving attention from the whole society. The school also strengthens the education of students on environmental protection awareness. Adding the reading comprehension material has provided students with more suggestions for doing the exercise.
Teacher Hoa said the literary argument surprised many people who knew the test well when almost no one guessed it correctly.
"This is a good poem by Huy Can but it is not easy for students to analyze. Adding a classification question, in my opinion, is a question only for good students, so most of them will find it difficult to fully answer the literary essay question," said Mr. Hoa.
Many literature teachers generally agree that this is the last year of implementing the assessment test based on textbooks of the 2006 program and the competition rate for admission to public schools is quite high. The test with strong differentiation will help make admission to public schools more convenient.
