Young man arrested for assaulting another person because he thought he was being 'stared at'

At noon on June 2, the leader of Hiep Hoa District Police said that this agency had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Thanh (29 years old, residing in Luong Phong commune, Hiep Hoa district) for the crime of "intentionally causing injury".

Initially, Hiep Hoa District Police determined that on April 15, Mr. GVT (32 years old, residing in Thang Town, Hiep Hoa District) and his friends drank coffee on the 2nd floor of a coffee shop in residential group number 2 (Thang Town).

At that time, Thanh went to see Mr. T. and thought that he was "looking at him" so he used a glass cup on the table to throw at Mr. T.'s head, causing the victim to be injured, bleed profusely and had to go to the Viet Yen District Medical Center (Bac Giang) for treatment.

Bac Giang General Hospital determined that Mr. T. suffered 3% injuries after being assaulted by Thanh.

According to Hiep Hoa District Police, in 2018, Thanh was prosecuted for "intentionally causing injury". However, after the investigation was completed, the victim withdrew the complaint and asked for exemption from criminal prosecution, so Thanh was only administratively punished for "violating the health of others".
