According to the investigation, in April 2023, Ms. DL (born 2000, Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district) posted information about needing to borrow money on a Facebook group. After that, a person using a Zalo account named "Viet Anh" contacted and agreed to lend Ms. L. 3 million VND.
The loan condition is that Ms. L. must take nude photos and videos of herself and send them to the lender. The total principal and interest that Ms. L. must pay is 4.8 million VND, paid in installments over 16 days, 300,000 VND per day. If the payment is one day late, the borrower must pay a penalty of 300,000 VND. Ms. L. needs money urgently so she agrees to the loan terms.
However, after Ms. L. sent her personal documents and sensitive photos as requested, the subject only transferred her 1.95 million VND. The subject announced that he would collect a referral fee from the borrower and collect the principal and interest 2 days in advance, totaling 1.05 million VND.
After nearly a month, Ms. L. transferred money to Nguyen Duc Anh's account 6 times with a total amount of 4.95 million VND and paid off the loan. However, the subject continued to use Ms. L.'s nude photos and videos to post on social networks, mentally threatening the victim, forcing her to transfer money to him. Fearful, Ms. L. transferred 3.45 million VND to the subject and reported it to the police.
During the investigation and prosecution, the police identified Nguyen Duc Anh as the person who extorted property and humiliated Ms. L. and arrested him. Through the struggle, the subject admitted to all his crimes.
In addition to Ms. L., many other young women who needed to borrow money were controlled by Nguyen Duc Anh using their nude photos to extort their property.
The case is currently under investigation.
