Throwing trash in the right place and keeping the market environment and the Huong River flowing through Bao Vinh ancient town clean and beautiful has become a daily habit for her and the traders at the market.

“In the past, because we were busy with business, female traders could not avoid littering everywhere. Since the Women's Union of the ward has promoted and mobilized women members in the market to commit to keeping the market area clean, especially not littering the river, everyone is aware of joining hands to protect the environment. When the environment is clean and beautiful, we are the first to benefit, and when the market is always clean and beautiful, visitors to Bao Vinh ancient town will also have a good impression, and we will also sell more products,” Nhi confided.

In addition to promoting and encouraging women to use plastic shopping baskets to reduce the use of nylon bags, the Women's Association of Chaoshandong also established the "Green Living Women" model. Members were trained in how to classify and process organic waste using indigenous microorganisms (IMO).

Ms. Do Thi Kim Chi, Head of the Trieu Son Dong Association, said: By participating in the model, women members not only know how to turn organic waste into products for daily life such as dishwashing liquid, floor cleaner, replacing chemicals... but also compost to grow plants, limiting direct littering into the environment. Women members also form the habit of sorting waste at home, especially recyclable waste to participate in the "Exchange waste for gifts" program.

The practical work of Huong Vinh Ward Women's Union members not only contributes to environmental protection but also doubles the meaning when contributing to building a fund to help members and children in difficulty. In 2024, the branches collected more than 17 million VND from selling scrap at "Green Houses" to support poor women and children. In the Green Sunday and Community Sunday programs, the Ward Women's Union connected with benefactors to give more than 100 gifts with a total value of more than 60 million VND to orphaned students and sick and ill women.

Huong Vinh Ward Women's Union recycles products from plastic scrap to plant more than 220 flower pots of all kinds in public places... With good practices, bringing practical meaning and efficiency, Huong Vinh Ward Women's Union has been commended by the City Women's Union for its outstanding achievements in implementing environmental protection activities in the period of 2023 - 2024.
