On the occasion of April 30 and May 1 this year, Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History, Ho Chi Minh City Museum; War Remnants Museum and Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts offer free admission to Ho Chi Minh City residents.
These are public museums under the management of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City.
Free admission for Ho Chi Minh City residents
People with permanent residence registration on their citizen identification cards in Ho Chi Minh City; primary, middle and high school students with student cards in Ho Chi Minh City will be exempted from entrance fees for the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
Museum representatives remind visitors to remember to bring their ID cards and student cards when coming to the museum to receive free admission.
In addition, visitors who are citizens of Ho Chi Minh City or students studying in Ho Chi Minh City will also receive free tickets to visit the above museums on the occasion of other anniversaries and events of the city in 2024 such as:
Commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024);
Celebrating the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024);
Celebrating the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

Coming to the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts on this occasion, visitors will be able to see the 2024 Graphic Exhibition. This activity is organized by the Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association. The 2024 Graphic Exhibition will take place until May 13.
In addition, visitors can learn about more than 22,000 artifacts regularly displayed here. Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued Decision No. 177 on general goals, targets, key solutions for socio-economic development and work program for 2024 on January 15.
In particular, the socio-economic development target states: "Each resident of Ho Chi Minh City is supported with free training instructions for at least 1 sport and 1 art form; free visits to public museums under the Department of Culture and Sports, free viewing of art programs organized by public service units under the Department of Culture and Sports on the occasion of anniversaries and events of the city and the country".
Mr. Tran The Thuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City - has sent a document to public museums under the department regarding free admission to museums.
