(NLDO) - The "March Border Month" program presented national flags, financial support and meaningful gifts to people in border areas.


On March 21, the Go Vap District Red Cross Society coordinated with the Vietnam Youth Union of the district to organize the "March Border Month" program in 2025 in Hoa Hiep commune, Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.

Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 500 national flags to Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province to carry out the national flag road project.

This is a program responding to the emulation movement to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day; the 59th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day, the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Humanitarian Month 2025 launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

Leaders of the Red Cross Society and the Vietnam Youth Union of Go Vap district presented gifts to poor students in the border area.

At the program, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 500 national flags from the "Proud of the National Flag" Program to Tan Bien District to carry out the 11km long national flag road project. The Go Vap District Red Cross Association also coordinated with the District Vietnam Youth Union to donate funds for the border lighting project; presented 12 bicycles, 10 scholarships to poor students; supported house repair costs; and presented 20 gifts to disadvantaged families.

Total budget from the program is about 250 million VND.

The program also visited and gave gifts to Lo Go Border Post, Hoa Hiep Commune, Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh Province.

Ms. Le Thi Vinh, President of the Go Vap District Red Cross Society, emphasized that this is a political activity to raise awareness and responsibility of the community, especially young people, about the task of protecting national border sovereignty. At the same time, it is an opportunity for Red Cross officers, members and volunteers to participate in studying and learning about protecting border sovereignty. Strengthening solidarity, attachment and responsibility among the Go Vap District Red Cross officers with the armed forces, mass organizations and people working and living in the border area.
