According to the Department of Tourism, in 2024, there will be 71,400 visitors using personal vehicles to visit from the beginning of Yet Kieu Street to the observation house and Ban Co peak, an increase of 24,750 visitors (up 53%) compared to 2023. In addition to maintaining staff on duty at guard stations, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches has coordinated with forces, units, and localities to deploy the management of visitors and tourist activities within the area approved by competent authorities, including establishing a night patrol team to ensure security and order, prevent forest fires, and preserve natural resources at Son Tra Peninsula. The patrol force regularly reminds and requires about 1,000 visitors to comply with regulations when visiting here...

Through the synchronous and coordinated implementation of agencies and units as assigned, the number of people and vehicles for sightseeing and picnics, especially at night, has been basically managed, serving well the management and handling work when incidents occur; at the same time, ensuring safety for tourists...

However, there are still cases where some spontaneous tourist groups often go on trekking routes down to Huc Lo, Mui Nghe areas... These are areas with many paths, forks, no phone signal, beaches without functional forces, complex currents with potential drowning risks, so it is necessary to continue to have close coordination and management of units.

Spontaneous businesses and individuals solicit tourists, use motorized boats and jet skis to transport tourists to swim and see corals, affecting the marine ecosystem and potentially posing safety risks to tourists. Some people take advantage of their visits to Son Tra Peninsula to illegally enter the forest, committing acts of encroachment on forest resources and wildlife in Son Tra Nature Reserve. The situation of tourists and locals feeding monkeys also occurs at some tourist attractions...

Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, said that in early April 2025, the unit will continue to coordinate with local forces and authorities to strengthen inspection, reminders, and handle the above situation to ensure safety for tourists as well as the environment and natural resources; at the same time, mobilize forces and call on volunteers to participate in general cleaning and garbage collection in areas in Son Tra Peninsula.

Vice Chairman of Tho Quang Ward People's Committee Le Tu Hoa added that in the coming time, the ward will coordinate with related units to strengthen management and handle cases of street vendors, soliciting customers and households without business licenses for SUP boating, canoeing, jet skiing...

In addition, the local forest rangers were requested to advise the Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son Inter-District Forest Ranger Department and the Ward People's Committee to strictly manage the entry and exit activities in the areas of Son Tra peninsula of related people, tourists as well as households that are receiving forest planting, management and protection contracts; strengthen management, protection, and ensure forest fire prevention and fighting safety; thoroughly grasp and require households that receive forest contracts to comply with regulations, not to expand construction, business, or trade in any form; develop a plan to patrol, inspect, and monitor forest protection...

The ward also requested military units, businesses... in Son Tra peninsula to coordinate with the locality in the management, protection and prevention of forest fires; prevent hunting, trapping of wild animals and wild birds, and tourists feeding wild animals...

The Office of the City People's Committee has just issued a document conveying the direction of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong requesting relevant agencies, units and localities to continue to carry out assigned tasks to manage security and order, forest environment... in the Son Tra peninsula area and ensure safety for tourists when visiting and picnicking here. At the same time, research and implement the recommendations of the Department of Tourism, in which attention should be paid to strengthening patrols, controlling and handling solicitation of tourists; using motorized boats and jet skis to transport tourists to swim and dive to see coral; propagating and reminding people and tourists not to feed monkeys...
