The article said that Dien Bien Phu is an important strategic location located in Dien Bien province, bordering Laos and China. In July 1953, the French Command in Indochina began implementing the "Nava Plan" with the hope of encircling the entire territory of Vietnam, destroying a large number of forces of the Vietnam People's Army in order to turn Vietnam into a long-term military base of the invaders... On December 6, 1953, the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam met to pass a resolution agreeing to launch the Dien Bien Phu campaign; Appointing General Vo Nguyen Giap as Commander and Secretary of the Front Party Committee... The article emphasized that the Dien Bien Phu campaign lasted 56 days and nights, divided into 3 major phases: Phase 1 started from March 13-17, 1954, the Vietnamese army and people destroyed 2 clusters of Him Lam strongholds and Doc Lap hill, forcing the enemy at the Keo village stronghold to surrender, breaking the northern gateway of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold. The second attack phase started from March 30 to April 30, 1954, the Vietnamese army simultaneously attacked the strongholds in the East of the central sub-sector. Tightening the siege, dividing and attacking to control Muong Thanh airport to cut off the enemy's supply to the stronghold. According to Pasaxon newspaper, the fierce attack of the Vietnamese army and people made the French army panic, Dien Bien Phu at that time became a hell hole burying the enemy alive. In the third attack, from May 1 to 7, 1954, the Vietnamese army and people launched a general offensive against the enemy's lair, destroying the entire Dien Bien Phu stronghold. On May 7, 1954, General De Castries and the entire General Staff and soldiers of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold raised the white flag and surrendered. The Lao People's Revolutionary Party's official mouthpiece affirmed that the Dien Bien Phu victory was one of the pinnacle battles, the most comprehensive test of strength, the fiercest battle between the Vietnamese People's Army on one side and the French invaders on the other with the intervention and support of the US Empire. The Dien Bien Phu victory caused the old-style colonialism to disintegrate for the first time in the world, forcing the strategic planners of the imperialist countries to shift to implementing new-style imperialism.
The article clearly stated that the Dien Bien Phu victory illuminated the truth that a colonial, semi-feudal country with a weak army and inadequate equipment, but if there is unity, direction and leadership of the genuine Marxist Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh, knowing how to use all forces to conduct people's war, can defeat an invading enemy with economic strength and strong armed forces, equipped many times better. Also according to the Pasaxon newspaper, the Dien Bien Phu victory was not only the victory of the Vietnamese people, but also the victory of the Lao and Cambodian people who fought side by side, together against the enemy to liberate themselves; emphasizing that the above victory extinguished the old colonialist's will to invade, forcing the French Government to agree to sign the Geneva Agreement on Indochina, recognizing the national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia... At the end of the article, Pasaxon newspaper affirmed to Laos that the Dien Bien Phu victory had a very important meaning for the special solidarity and fighting alliance between Laos and Vietnam because this was the victory of the two countries against a common enemy, a testament to the coordination and mutual support not only in the above campaign but also forever after.
