Price list of health examination services covered by health insurance from November 17, 2023

On November 17, the Minister of Health issued Circular 22/2023/TT-BYT regulating the unification of prices for medical examination and treatment services covered by health insurance among hospitals of the same rank nationwide and providing guidance on the application of prices and payment of medical examination and treatment costs in some cases.

Price list of health insurance examination services from November 17, 2023

Accordingly, Circular 22/2023/TT-BYT stipulates the price of medical examination services (including direct costs and salaries) as follows:

- Special class hospital: 42,100 VND

- Grade I hospital: 42,100 VND

- Grade II hospital: 37,500 VND

- Grade III hospital: 33,200 VND

- Grade IV hospital: 30,100 VND

- Commune health station: 30,100 VND

- Consultation to determine difficult cases (expert/case; only applicable in cases where experts from other units are invited to consult at the medical examination and treatment facility): VND 200,000.

Direct costs included in the price of health insurance examination services

The prices of medical examination and treatment services prescribed in Circular 22/2023/TT-BYT are based on direct costs and salaries to ensure medical examination and treatment.

In which, direct costs included in the price of medical examination services include:

- Costs of clothes, hats, masks, sheets, pillows, mattresses, mats, stationery, gloves, cotton, bandages, alcohol, gauze, saline solution and other consumables for medical examination;

- Costs of electricity; water; fuel; treatment of domestic waste, medical waste (solid, liquid); washing, ironing, steaming, drying, washing, sterilizing fabrics, examination instruments; costs of cleaning and ensuring environmental hygiene; supplies, chemicals for disinfection and anti-infection during medical examination;

- Costs for maintenance and repair of houses, equipment, purchase of replacement assets, tools and instruments such as: air conditioners, computers, printers, dehumidifiers, fans, tables, chairs, beds, cabinets, lighting, other necessary kits and tools during the medical examination process.
