The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Lang Son province organized the opening ceremony of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in 2024.

The Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival (Northeast Ethnic Culture Festival) attracted the participation of 8 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc and Bac Giang, with more than 400 officials, artisans, actors, tour guides and athletes.
The festival is not only a cultural event but also an opportunity for ethnic minorities in the Northeast region to express their cultural identity. Activities taking place within the framework of the festival include performances of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals, displays and exhibitions of local cultural, culinary and tourism products. In particular, the program also includes a mass art festival and a performance of ethnic costumes, contributing to honoring the cultural diversity of the region.
In addition, traditional sports such as tug of war, stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing and stilt walking will also be held, bringing a vibrant and exciting atmosphere to the festival. One of the important highlights is the scientific conference entitled “Cultural tourism in the Northeast - inspiration and development” to discuss solutions for sustainable tourism development in the region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture, Deputy Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, emphasized: "The activities in the festival will create a special and meaningful cultural space. This is an opportunity for artisans, actors and athletes of ethnic groups in the Northeast region to meet, exchange and share experiences in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values".
The Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of the Ethnic Groups in the Northeast is not only an opportunity to promote the culture of ethnic groups but also an opportunity to promote tourism development in the region, thereby contributing to improving people's lives and preserving precious cultural values. This event is expected to attract the attention of many tourists and people, creating favorable conditions for cultural exchange between ethnic groups and regions, creating solidarity between ethnic groups.
With rich and diverse activities, the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival promises to bring a joyful and colorful cultural atmosphere, while affirming the position of ethnic minority culture in the diverse cultural picture of Vietnam.
